From today onwards, start feeling thankful because..
You are alive for another day to make it right.
You are healthy. When you're not, be patient, for Allah is forgiving your minor sins.
You have people who love you. With and without your knowing.
You have people you talk to all the time.
You have people who don't talk to you all the time, but when they do, it's like nothing has ever changed.
You have everything you need. Your wants don't matter as much. They come and go like seasons.
You have received a proper education ever since you were 7 years old.
You have books to read. Some children wish they learned the alphabet.
You have a pair of legs to walk to the library.
You have a pair of hands to hold your phone.
You have a nose to sniff at fragrant roses. Some lost it to cancer.
You have a pair of eyes to stargaze at night.
You have hair. Long or short, problematic or always silky, have it your way.
You have a house to sleep in.
You have the free time to spend by doing the things you love.
You have a family to go back to.
You have friends. The number doesn't matter, their sincerity to cope with your bullshit does.
You have a fan. The weather is blazing hot nowadays- consider yourself lucky.
You have your own attraction. It might be your smile, your eyes.. Or the way you walk. You never know unless somebody tells you.
You are beautiful in your own ways. Some people will find you beautiful. Some won't. So what? Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
What you don't have? Well, here's a list too.
You don't have people who want you dead. If you do, don't worry.. You won't die before God says it's time.
You don't have precarious reptiles in your house. Or your house compound. Or even better, your neighborhood.
You don't have people killing your self-esteem. If you do, slap their face with success- The best revenge in the history of mankind.
You don't have parents who abuse you physically or mentally. Or even worse, sexually. Be thankful, some children have it bad.
You don't have teachers who hit you or curse at you.. provided that you behave well. So, behave yourself.
You don't have diseases. If you do, remember that God is helping you with your truckloads of sins.
You don't have a physical or mental impairment. If that doesn't make you happy, I don't know what does.
You don't have a negative mind. If you do, fix it. It's your mind, after all.
You don't have the looks that drive people away. If you do, it must be something you did to yourself.
You don't have everything you want. If you do, you are lucky. Needs and wants aren't always the same things.
The list can go on for eternity.
However, I hope you got my point.
Appreciate the little things.
Be grateful.
For everything. Good and bad.
